Video: Local Detroit Youth Star - Imani Jackson

(Video by Sampson Cunningham)

Sampson Cunningham of the Better Detroit Youth Movement (BDYM) recorded a video and interviewed Imani Jackson, who is a budding local star in Detroit.

Imani Jackson is 11-years-old, and she attends Bradford Academy in Detroit.  Already, she is an accomplished young lady.

From July 27 to August 3, 2013, she participated in the U.S. Junior Olympics.  There she competed against 100 other 11-year-old girls.  Ultimately, she finished 9th nationwide and first in the State (of Michigan).

Imani joined the track team, and she was the only girl on the 6th grade team who won four (4) gold medals.

Since May 4th, Imani has earned 13 medals.

Imani Jackson has a lot of goals for herself.  She wants to go to the Olympics, be a newscaster, and attend Harvard University.

The BDYM is hoping to provide this shining star any help she needs to succeed and make her goals come true.
